Programs & Incentives

The Army Medical Service Corps provides a diverse array of programs and incentives designed to support its members' professional development and financial needs. The Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP) is available for fields such as Optometry and Counseling/Clinical Psychology, offering scholarships that cover tuition, stipends, and academic fees. Recipients are commissioned as Second Lieutenants while participating in the HPSP program and promoted to Captain upon graduation.

In addition to educational opportunities, the Corps hosts the Clinical Psychology Internship Program (CPIP) and the Clinical Psychology Post-Doctoral Residency Program (CPRP) at various military medical facilities, providing valuable hands-on experience in clinical psychology. The Army-UK Master of Social Work (MSW) Program and the Social Work Internship Program (SWIP) offer educational and practical training in social work, fostering skilled social workers within the Corps. For audiology students, the Audiology Externship Program (AEP) at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center offers an in-depth clinical training experience.

The Corps provides several financial incentives to support and reward its members. These include Incentive Pay, which acknowledges professional accomplishments and qualifications, and Board Certification Pay, which rewards attainment and maintenance of board certification. Additionally, the Active Duty Accession Bonus is available for qualified professionals, alongside the Active Duty Health Professions Loan Repayment Program (ADHPLRP), designed to assist members in repaying educational loans.

For Army Reserve members, financial support is extended through the USAR Accession Bonus and the Reserve Component Health Professions Loan Repayment Program (RCHPLRP). These programs recognize and reward the dedication and contributions of reserve members to the Corps, offering substantial financial benefits in recognition of their service.
